In a country that has been as devastated both intellectually and economically as Cambodia, the teaching of the English language is tantamount to giving people the world -- a world of information. That English is now the international language is without dispute. Throughout The Kingdom of Cambodia private, for profit English schools are prospering. Cambodia World Family, on the other hand, believes that access to information should be free, and if the knowledge of English is the key that unlocks the door to information then that key should also be free.

English language class In the Provinces of Siem Reap, Kandal, and Kompot Cambodia World Family offers free English education. Even in areas recently under Khmer Rouge control the longing for information and education is overwhelming. In Kompot Province (liberated from the Khmer Rouge in 1996) there are more than 400 children and adults enrolled in CWF's Free English Education Program (FEEP). Cambodia World Family's FEEP provides English language education from beginning levels (ABC English) through advanced conversation and writing.

Donations to Cambodia World Family make it possible to construct low cost, low maintenance Village Learning Centers which serve both as classrooms and libraries for English language training, but also as venues for other group activities and trainings.
